Duquesne City School District launches District C’s Teamship program for 7th and 8th grade students. “It prepares them for a real-world experience, as they develop skills to help them with their careers,” says Adam Ryan, the program’s ELA teacher.
This year, students in the District C elective class are collaborating with Duquesne City to reimagine Polish Hill Park. Through our Teamship process—diversity, launch, solve, and pitch—students are honing critical skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation.
What makes this project so special? It’s deeply personal. Students are tackling a challenge that directly impacts their community, working to deliver solutions that matter. Whether it’s designing a water park or improving accessibility, students are applying real-world skills across disciplines like math, science, and graphic design to craft meaningful pitches.
We’re so inspired by the creativity and dedication of these students and grateful to Duquesne City School District for helping make this possible.
