FAQs
Our team works with business partners to determine how often and when they prefer to match with student teams. Ideally, businesses engage once or twice a year.
Yes! We have found that once business partners have engaged with student teams once, they’re eager to return! Not only do partners find value in engaging with young talent, they are frequently impressed with the outcomes of their student teams. We encourage businesses to stay active in our community, returning as a problem provider once or twice a year.
Each engagement is 3 student team meetings for a total of about 5 hours. These engagements might all occur in the same week or may be spread across as many as 9 weeks. But, a typical experience has those 3 meetings occur within a 4-6 week span.
The 30-minute conversation is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the work, to learn more about District C and the important role that you play in our work, and for us to get to know you and your organization. The goal is to make sure you get all the information you need before opting in and to make sure your business is good fit for our students too!
We’re flexible! There are engagement opportunities throughout the year. It’s our goal to match you with the right students at the right time. We will discuss what timing works best for you, and you’ll have the option to accept or not accept any opportunity that comes your way.
Nope! We know your time is valuable and we’re grateful for the opportunity to provide students the value of interacting with you.
Think problem, not project. Projects are task-oriented with a clear direction while problems are messy, complex, and could have a variety of solutions. We want problems! We’ll help you consider meaningful, urgent problems you’re facing and frame them in a way that’s accessible to students. Remember, the District C team is here to guide you through the whole process, from problem identification to pitch day!
